When I first moved here I heard that only job training for those with disabilities was offered, which my source was very wrong about. That wasn’t what was fully offered. I found out from my step-mother, a student of the college at the time, said that much more was offered than just training for those with disabilities. It offered education and training for everyone of any physical and mental condition, much to my relief. I have yet to attend this college, as I have a big New Years Resolution to finish and check off. On that matter, I have finally begun to actually have the ability and means to complete my big goal. But I always seem to find it easy to tell people, even if they live here, about BOCES. While managing to get them to complete or further their education.

In this small town, BOCES isn’t hard to find. But for those curious, and possibly not a citizen of Evanston, Wyoming (5 miles from the Utah boarder, and, YES, you can find it on a map. regardless what people say), the address is 1013 West Cheyenne Dr. Suite A, Evanston, Wyoming 82930. To call for information the number is 307-789-5742, Toll Free: 1-866-228-2003; Website: http://www.llc-evanston.org/

This institution offers much for the student. Programs offered are Adult Basic Education (English and a Second Language, GED and BOOST [B.O.C.E.S. Opportunities for Self-Sufficiency Training]), Advanced Certification Training (Certified Internet Webmaster, Certification Testing, and Cisco Academy), Business Skills (Program Information and Modules), Community Education (crafts, computer classes, computer classes for senior citizens), Online Classes (Accounting, Grant Writing amp; Nonprofit Management, Health Care, Nutrition, amp; Fitness, Digital Photography amp; Digital Video, Web Page Design, and more), Vocational Programs (Electrical 1 and 2, Plumbing, Safety Manager, and American Home Inspectors Training Institute), and Industrial Safety Training. That’s a lot for just programs in this area.

Let’s not forget the courses. They range from Animal and Pet Classes to Personal and Professional Enrichment to all in between like math, science, social studies, language, English, and such. You can view the online catalog or ask to be sent one. Here in Evanston, it’s common to get one in the mail periodically without request.

And to think, from here you can graduate from Western Wyoming Community College, University of Wyoming Outreach, Utah State University through distance education, Trio Education Center, and Western Governors University. So, it’s not just a community college. That’s impressive.

For prices you can call for information and they offer great financial aid. In fact my step-mother got a new computer through a program that paid for it so she can complete her education. I’ve heard of colleges and community colleges lending them out to you for a fee but I didn’t believe it until I saw her computer. I’m not sure what program offered this. But you could ask.
