Cheyenne, Wyoming — A day before Halloween, hundreds of job seekers ventured out to Laramie County Community College in Cheyenne, Wyoming to take part in a career fair. This career fair in Cheyenne, Wyoming, according the map given to attendees, was scheduled to have brought out more than 90 employers. Here’s more about this twice yearly event held at Laramie County Community College in Cheyenne, Wyoming. With the economy in dire straits, I was told by one of the staffers that more people were expected to attend this event. I do my best to attend each one that is held to see what kind of opportunities are available and to get the free goodies that are provided for potential job seekers!

This local event not only brought out local employers like Great Lakes Aviation, American National Bank, and the Wyoming State Government, but employers from other states like Colorado (including the Sterling Correctional Facility) and Nebraska came, too, to this important community event in Cheyenne, Wyoming. The military and various law enforcement agencies were there, too, looking for job seekers to join their organizations. Some of the neat enticements at the tables of the career fair employers were gadgets with their company logos on them like pens, paper pads, yo-yos (from and engineering company), all sorts of candy from Tootsie-Rolls to Jolly Ranchers, and yummy cookies. As usual, Starbucks provided free coffee.

I came just after the event began, a little after 2 o’clock in the afternoon, and noticed that scores of job seekers were there already. Because of the economy, I was told by one of the Laramie County Community College Career Fair officials that hundreds are expected to show up, and probably more than usual.

This event for job seekers was scheduled to take place until 6 o’clock in the evening. The Career Fairs at Laramie County Community College in Cheyenne, Wyoming are normally held in April and October, which gives college students, including those about to graduate, a chance to get a heads up on job opportunities. But because this event is open to the public, this community college in Cheyenne, Wyoming allows locals who are job seekers the chance to find other lines of work, too.
