Hi there! I'm Jessica Hansen, the girl behind the blog. 

I'm a Journalism major who's been obsessed with magazines, decorating, and diy projects since I was a little girl.  Besides starting LovelyUndergrad.com, I've established the Iowa State University branch of Her Campus and written for ISU's fashion magazine Trend.  This past summer, I worked my dream internship at Meredith Corporation!  As an editorial intern for the Better Homes and Gardens Special Interest Home Design group, I wrote content for Do It Yourself, Storage, and Cottage Style magazines.  I also got a taste of my dream job... producing!

Beyond magazine writing and blogging, I have a passion for reading and writing historical fiction.  I hope to one day publish a novel!  When not writing magazine stories, blog posts, school papers, or novels... I haunt local thrift stores, antique markets, and coffee shops.  I'm always re-decorating my apartment and taking on do-it-yourself projects.  So I can also be found in the backyard spray painting thrift store finds or at the kitchen table Mod Podge'ing something nifty.

What else?  I collect vintage typewriters.  I've been smitten with Gone with the Wind and Rhett Butler since I was eight.  Sofia Coppola's Marie Antoinette is my favorite film.  I'm an ancient Roman history nerd buff. Tufted, velvet, vintage furniture makes me swoon. And turquoise is my favorite hue.
